  • Chop Chop Chop

I awoke this morning to the sound of trees being felled in my front street. I consider it ethically wrong to just go hacking trees down without any sort of consent from Greenpeace or David Bellamy. The only reason the council are doing it anyway is to make sure they spend their big fat budget so they can have more next year. What they should do is spend the money modifying the trees into something useful, like observatories or command posts for police officers. This would save a lot of time and effort for the general public as we wouldn't have to be as vigilant toward criminals and wrong doers if we had a permanent "eye in the sky". A measure I feel would help turn Britain into a more relaxed, care free society.
Ken Hom was on TV this morning cooking donuts, but not just any ordinary donuts. No, these donuts were "tasteless, though really healthy." Come on Ken, get with it man. People don't mind a bit of grease every now and then.
Went to get some bacon out the fridge to cook myself a sandwich and found a monkey asleep in there. It awoke with a start and looked at me, terrified. It jumped to its feet and gave me a quick riddle; "As a whole, I am both safe and secure. Behead me, and I become a place of meeting. Behead me again, and I am the partner of ready. Restore me, and I become the domain of beasts. What am I?" I don't know whether this was a well oiled routine or whether it just panicked and didn't know what else to do. I eventually figured it out though.."I am safe and secure". I'm convinced Anthony Worral Thompson is a troll as well.
The sun is out again. All the time I tell myself I'm going to make the most of it but always end up staying in the house pretending to be Chuck D. Might buy a new T-shirt today. I'm starting to look like a tramp wearing the same clothes all the time, it's difficult this saving up lark. Anyways, stay tuned folks.

  • Dazzling...profound and urgent.

Thursday has been one of those very basic days. I was in the bathroom getting a shower first thing and I could hear the TV on downstairs. I heard Nessum Dorma belting out and the odd word about Italia 90 and Princess Di and I knew straight away - Pavarotti had died. Never knew he was 71, I thought he was much younger than that. Didn't know he had cancer either, you usually hear about it in the news when famous people get cancer dont you? Maybe I just missed it. At work I did the usual browse the internet and skive for 30 minutes. Read a story about some bloke who was offered 10 million to help some pharmaceutical company keep hush about this drug that had a side effect of making people really bloodthirsty. It would drive me mental something like that. Real moral dilemma. Would hate to have to go through something like that. Also read a story of a couple of 18 year old lads who burgled and trashed a youth centre. They were caught instantly because the silly buggers wrote their names on the wall; "Peter Addison was 'ere". On the photograph, just underneath that daubing though, was a poster of "British garden birds". Our Peter had the impulse to add "R GAY" to the sign. I found this far more amusing than the story itself, but then maybe thats just me?

Might go for an Italians tonight. If they're open, I don't how much of an icon Pavarotti was to those folk. Even if they are open there might be a proper mopey atmosphere. Might just stay in and have a cornetto instead. Just the one though.
